Day 1

Meeting at 11:00 a.m. on the departures level of Manises Airport to take our Lufthansa flight to WARSAW. Short layover in Frankfurt, with scheduled arrival in the Polish capital at 6:40 p.m. Warsaw is probably one of the cities that has changed the most over the last 30 years. Devastated during World War II, it rose from the ashes and became the capital of a Poland integrated into the USSR. After the historic Solidarity movement and the fall of the Berlin Wall, Poland opened up to the world, and Warsaw is a true reflection of this transformation. The modern city continues to grow nonstop, with impressive skyscrapers and new infrastructure blending with remnants of the communist era, as well as medieval touches in its Old Town, giving it a truly unique character. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and accommodation. We will then visit the economic center of the Polish capital and go up to the top floor of the Palace of Culture to enjoy the best panoramic views of the city. This building was a gift from the USSR to Poland in 1955 and has since become one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

Day 2

Breakfast. We will transfer to the JEWISH QUARTER, one of the most important in Europe before the Second World War. From there, we will go to the Old Town of the city, or Stare Miasto, and visit the CATHEDRAL OF SAINT JOHN, the MARKET SQUARE, and enter the ROYAL CASTLE. Built in a Baroque-Neoclassical style, it was the residence of the king until the end of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795. In the afternoon, we will visit LAZIENKI PARK, the largest park in Warsaw, covering over 80 hectares. It was founded in the 17th century in Baroque style and later acquired by Stanislaus Poniatowski, King of Poland in 1764. During that period, palaces and Classicist-style buildings were constructed around the large lakes. Notably, the monument to the famous composer Frederico Chopin is located here. We will finish the day by visiting the famous and central NOWY SWIAT (“New World”) street, home to the city’s most beautiful residences and palaces, alongside the UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW. Accommodation.

Day 3

Breakfast. Transfer by road to POZNAN. It is one of the most historically important cities in Poland, not only for being considered the first capital of the country, but also for its symbolic significance as the cradle of Christianity, since Prince Mieszko I converted to Christianity in Poznan, and most likely the first Polish bishop, Jordan, settled in Poznan, on the current Cathedral Island with the first cathedral (968). Poznania was the capital of the Greater Poland region, Wielkopolska, until it became a possession of Prussia in 1793 with the Second Partition of Poland. Morning on the road. In the afternoon, we will visit the city starting with the OLD MARKET SQUARE, the nerve center of the Old Town. We will see its Baroque, Gothic, and Renaissance buildings, including the TOWN HALL, one of the city’s most beautiful buildings, the JESUITS’ CHURCH, and, above all, its main landmarks: the ROYAL CASTLE from the 13th century and the CATHEDRAL, built in the 10th century in Baroque style but featuring Gothic and Renaissance elements. Accommodation.

Day 4

Breakfast. Transfer to the city of WROCLAW. Its geographical position between Warsaw and Berlin is what has made this city grow so much and, since the Middle Ages, one of the most important in the country. Besides its strategic importance, Wroclaw is considered by many as one of the most beautiful cities in Poland, thanks to its incredible urban architecture. Bathed by the Odra River, it is a city of bridges and gardens. Testimonies of its rich past include the TOWN HALL in Gothic style and the old bourgeois houses, also in Gothic and Renaissance style. As in other Polish cities, its heart is the MARKET SQUARE, large and bustling. One of the most recognized buildings is undoubtedly its UNIVERSITY, a spectacular Baroque building constructed when Wroclaw belonged to Prussia. Among its buildings, the magnificent Aula Leopoldina stands out. It is named in honor of the Austrian emperor Leopold I, who founded the University of Wroclaw in 1702. It is a beautiful Baroque hall (the largest in Poland) and is located in the central building of the University. Later, we will also view the circular painting “Panorama of the Battle of Raclawice”, measuring 15 meters high and 114 meters wide.

Day 5

Breakfast. Transfer to what is considered by many the most beautiful city in Poland. Former capital of Poland, CRACOW continues to be one of the most important cities in the country, and thanks to the excellent state of preservation of its buildings and its rich artistic and cultural heritage, it is one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe. The Old Town of Cracow preserves beautiful Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance constructions, thanks to which it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More than two million people visit Cracow each year, attracted by the undeniable charm of the city and its people. After free time for lunch, transfer to the AUSCHWITZ CONCENTRATION CAMP and BIRKENAU. Built in 1940 after the invasion of Poland and located about 43 km west of Cracow, it was the largest extermination center in the history of Nazism. It is estimated that around 1,300,000 people were sent there, of whom 1,100,000 died, the vast majority of them Jewish (90%), in addition to Slavs, Roma, and prisoners of war.

Day 6

Breakfast. Full day dedicated to exploring this beautiful city. We will begin the visit at Wawel Hill, where legends tell that a dragon lived who was defeated by a peasant, and that is why the two most representative buildings are located there. On one side, the ROYAL CASTLE, of Renaissance style and over a thousand years old, has been the residence of Polish kings from the Middle Ages until the 17th century, when the capital moved to Warsaw. On the other side, the CATHEDRAL OF SAINT WENCESLAUS, where all Polish kings were crowned. This impressive Gothic temple has 20 chapels and contains the sarcophagi of all the kings of the Jagiellon dynasty. We will continue with a visit to the MARKET SQUARE of Cracow. Laid out in 1257, it is the most important place in the city, with an astonishing area of 40,000 square meters; this emblematic site is the largest medieval square in Europe. In the afternoon, we will transfer to the SCHINDLER FACTORY, where some scenes of the Oscar-winning film were shot, and which today is a museum dedicated to the industrialist Oscar Schindler, who managed to save the lives of around 1,200 Jews. We will finish our tour in the KAZIMIERZ NEIGHBORHOOD, one of the city’s historic quarters, known for having been the center of the city’s Jewish community from the 14th century until the end of the Second World War. Accommodation.

Day 7

Breakfast. Free morning or optional excursion to the WIELICZKA SALT MINES. They are part of the oldest salt mines in the world, excavated 700 years ago and still in operation today. This unique case in the world is visited by more than 800,000 people each year and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. They reach a depth of 327 meters, have 9 different levels of height, and a length of more than 300 km of labyrinthine galleries, along which there are chambers and small chapels with beautiful carved figures that tell the story of salt mining. Free afternoon to enjoy strolling through this wonderful city and shopping for last-minute souvenirs.

Day 8
